CSR is the efforts companies make to create positive social impact. To this end, NBT will provide education and training in the field of pharmaceutical research and drug discovery with a special emphasis on biologically active plants that are grown in Uganda.
Education
Five thousand (5,000) square feet of space will be available for local students and professionals looking for career progression (including becoming a Senior Quality Research Professional), to train a group of staff in house in changes in procedures and regulations, or to bring about culture change within an entire organization.
Training
NBT will offer comprehensive training programs designed to develop the knowledge and skills needed to meet the challenges of a global and complex pharmaceutical industry. Our programs will be global in scope but will be tailored to address African cultural norms.
Nursing & Emergency Care Center (NECC)
NBT will provide a NECC that will be staffed by a Nurse and an orderly, for staff experiencing illness or injury during the work. The Nurse will administer routine medications or stabilize the staff member until emergency services arrive after a more serious injury. The Nurse will also be required to educate staff about health-related issues. The NECC will be equipped with measuring equipment for vital signs, blood pressure monitors, heart rate, oxygen saturation devises, diabetes monitoring devises, syringes, needles, tourniquets, digital thermometers, tongue depressors, pulse oximeters, medical clipboards, EKG ECG telemetry calipers, hand sanitizer/alcohol wipes, lotion and other sanitary items, saline flushes, retractable tape measure, etc. As part of CSR, 2-days a month will be set aside for staff family members to get free routine medical checkup. This will include a thorough physical examination and a variety of tests depending on the age and sex and health of the family member.
